At Angus Talking Newspapers Association (ATNA) we are committed to the privacy of our Listeners and Volunteers, which requires sound data privacy governance and effective data privacy compliance.
ATNA Data Controller is our Secretary who will be responsible for our privacy policy and GDPR compliance with the support of the committee and volunteers.
Scope
The privacy policy applies to personal data relating to our listeners and volunteers held in electronic format and hard copy, retained in protected files and also to committee members’ data which may be published on our website and in printed brochures.
Collection of Personal Information
Personal information is any information that personally identifies an individual or from which an individual could be identified. This may include a name, address, telephone number, email address and other private personal attributes.
ATNA collects, uses, stores and transfers (collectively “processes”) personal information in order to carry out the charity’s purpose of providing a free service to blind and partially sighted listeners. Processing is done in compliance with applicable laws, including appropriate notice and consent. Consents will be refreshed on a three yearly basis.
ATNA may collect and process personal information through a variety of means, including, as examples, during conversations or correspondence with listeners or their representatives, or in the course of an email request.
Use of Personal Information
We will use your personal information in order to provide our service. We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, or the rights of others, or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, law enforcement or legal process.
Sharing of Personal Data
We will not sell details to a third party. Please be aware that in certain circumstances, personal information may be subject to disclosure to government agencies, e.g. office bearer data to the Office of Scottish Charity Regulator.
Choices and Privacy Preferences
ATNA will collect personal information from you including your name, phone number, email address, or other information you choose to provide in order that we may send our recording by post to you. It will not be possible for us to provide this service to you without retaining the necessary personal data.
We will delete the personal data from our records of listeners when they cease with our service and volunteers when they cease to volunteer.

Dispute Resolution
ATNA is committed to resolve any complaints you may have in relation to your privacy and ATNA’s collection and use of your personal information. Please send any privacy related complaints or requests, including request for access to information to treasurer@angustalkingnews.co.uk
Notification of Changes
We will post a notice for 90 days on our website notifying users when this Privacy Policy is updated or modified in a material way. If we are going to use your personal information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will contact you, and you will have, subject to legal and/or contractual provisions, a choice as to whether or not we can use your personal information in such a way.

We value your opinion, if you have any comments or question about this Privacy Policy, ATNA’s handling of your personal information, or a possible breach of your privacy you can send an email to the ATNA Data Controller at secretary@angustalkingnews.co.uk
We will treat your requests or complaints confidentially. Our representative will contact you within a reasonable time after receipt of your complaint to address your concerns and outline options regarding how they may be resolved. We will aim to ensure that your complaint is resolved in a timely and appropriate manner.
